Very good service and good qualityPosted on amanda tremblayTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We hired Macdonald Drywall to do framing/insulation/drywall/taping for us on a vacation/summer cottage in Gravenhurst. We had the foundation poured and ready, we called Andrew and requested a quote his was below others and we heard good things about his work so we decided to hire him, initially we paid him $75,000.00 retainer (cheque) for 50% upfront to the business and the rest due on completion. This was month before he started, we were a little nervous but had good faith in our choice. Andrew showed up the first day with a big red truck loaded with tools/material and 3 guys with him and a woman. The first day he stated that the retaining concrete for the foundation were poured in the wrong place as per the drawings. where the walls were supposed to go there would be no support. We went over the drawings and confirmed this. I instantly got on the phone with my concrete company and they were unable to come repour for 2 months. Unfortunate i had paid and hired them before Andrew as I would also have to pay for the correction because i signed off after they left. Andrew solved the issue the first day and sprung into action, he billed me half what the concrete company wanted $6000.00 and poured the retaining wall pads and wall supports in the correct place, all in the first day. He used rebar drilled down and supported the concrete and framed forms by hand and poured with special adhesive he mixed with bags in pails all from his truck he delivered. Andrew then went on to frame the basement and first floor, then walls on the first, then the gabled roof system. He was able to complete all of the framing on time and then came back to insulate, drywall and finish our cottage, after we had our family/friends do the plumbing and wiring and HVAC. We are happy with the outcome from this business, and the problem solving skills of Andrew, as well as the dedication he provided, We would recommend for new builds, thank you Macdonald Drywall. I hired this company to finish my basement from bare, and they did a great job, the project was quoted for 6 weeks but only took 4. We had mold remediated, framing, insulation, drywall, taping, trim and primer coat painted. For what we paid and what other businesses wanted we believe we got a great deal. The owner was friendly knowledgeable and put forth an effort to attend to our needs. Thank you for the hard work MacDonald Drywall.Posted on ActivPour Construction Inc.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great Service ! He left the project unfinished, in interlocking, a major last step is adding polymeric sand so that the bricks and stones dont move. He came for a couple of hours and did this last step, when i go to check, there is major holes where there is no polymeric sand, as a result some of the bricks and stones have aleady shifted. When I paid him, the paid service included adding polymeric sand, that was the deal. Now I had to go buy an extra bag and spend time out of my day finishing a job that i paid for, after trying to contact him for a month, I gave up, he gave me any reasons why he couldnt show up, he scheduled dates to come finish the job and did not show. Another thing to note is how he left alot of garbage and debris that he didnt clean up, there large amounts of sand that was not placed carefully on the walk way, as a result, there is patches of my soil that are now hardened by the sand, which I will have to dig out and replace with soil, this could have been prevented if the job wasnt rushed and the sand was cleaned up.
